I've been married for about 7 years now, and I’m happy, but let's be honest marriage and relationships are tough!
Choosing to live with another person everyday, day in, day out is one of the hardest things I have ever done, that and becoming a mum.
Actually they’re the two hardest things I have ever done and they kind of sit next to each other and overlap don’t they!
'Sometimes I wonder if raising my boys and being single would be easier', because I've constantly got my husbands opinions to take into consideration, he's an individual person he has thoughts and opinions, and quite right to.
But knowing this and fully appreciating it doesn’t always help when we differ in our opinions.
Often through the busyness of family life through the projections of our own ego minds our, own fears, our own sense of internal suffering and our own baggage that we both bring to the relationship, communication can often go down the toilet.
So how do you improve...
Life sometimes throws us curve balls and challenges doesn’t it? None of us get away scott free, but some of us seem to manage those curve balls and challenges better. For some it’s like water off a duck's back!
I was reminded of this recently because I had some issues with my book publication. It was released by mistake without any pre-launch or promotion that I had planned. Now for those who aren’t in to marketing or business, this really is a disaster! Especially as I had put so much of my heart and soul for two years in to writing this book and then preparing for its release only for it to silently be released without me even knowing!
I was gutted, and with so many other things going on I started to really feel like I was cracking under the pressure of how I was going to salvage the mess. I started to think and feel that I just couldn’t do it all, I just couldn’t cope with this situation!
So I practiced what I preach and...
Did you know you are your biggest Saboteur?
Yes, sadly it’s true, but guess what, you can choose not to be!
Here are three simple yet powerful strategies that can rapidly change your life by helping you see the thoughts that cause you to sabotage, and empower you to change them.
Get to know your ego thoughts by beginning to watch your thoughts, this is so important because when you're caught up in your thinking it's virtually impossible to recognise what's fact and what's fiction.
It's impossible to see through the lies that you often tell yourself, so you must learn to recognise your ego, to be a witness to your ego thoughts and understand the loop they can keep you in.
This is the loop of thoughts, feelings/ emotions, behaviours and reactions I talked about in the first Podcast episode.
So if you haven’t listened to, or read the blog for this episode yet, go do that now and download the free worksheet...
So if you're reading this you may be struggling right now with some form of self sabotage or inner feeling of unsettlement. You could be struggling with anxiety issues or low mood, depression, anger irritability lack of confidence, you know a real sense of insecurity which stops you from showing up in the world the way you want to.
Well, let me introduce you to your ego mind. Your ego mind is a part of you that’s been forming since you were born, it's all the fears and insecurities that have collected together to form a self protection mechanism within your own mind.
It's the part of you which is distracted, it's the part of you which is disconnected, it's that little voice inside your own mind which criticizes you and tells you you can't when you can. It tells you, you shouldn't when you should, it tells you you're not good enough, that you'll never be good enough, that you'll never be thin enough, you'll never be pretty enough, or you'll never be smart enough....
